„Absolvierte eine Fotografenausbildung am Photo-College in Tokio<br />
<br />
Etablierte sich nach seiner Promotion 1954 als freischaffender Fotograf<br />
<br />
Gründete 1959 zusammen mit [[To-matsu]], [[Kawada]], [[Ikko]] u.a. die Gruppe »VIVO«, die sich für die Durchsetzung neuer, kreativer fotografischer Ideen engagierte.<br />
<br />
1964 Mitarbeit an Kon Ichikawas Film über die Olympischen Spiele in Tokio; zugleich Auszeichnung durch die japanische Fotokritikervereinigung als »Fotograf des Jahres«.<br />
<br />
Neben komplizierten Akt-und Körperdetailstudien widmete er sich vor allem der Darstellung symbolischer Körper-Raum-Objekt-Konstellationen (zumeist s/w).<br />
<br />
Ab 1970 Leiter zahlreicher Fotoworkshops in den USA, u.a. am Phoenix College in Arizona und am Columbia College in Illinois.<br />
