„In fortgesetzten Experimenten mit neuen Methoden zur photomechanischen Reproduktion entwickelte Danesi schließlich ein eigenes Verfahren, das er später patentieren ließ. Darüber berichtete der Osservatore Romano vom 29. Dezember 1869 folgendes: >>Unschätzbar sind die Vorzüge dieser höchst nützlichen Entdeckung, sowohl von der ökonomischen wie von der künstlerischen Seite betrachtet, besonders für die Werke, in denen Porträts, Veduten oder Umrisse von Tieren oder irgendwelchen anderen Gegenständen vorkommen.
